Exhibition at ASFP Regional CPD Seminar Dec 2014

POSTED BY 15.12.2014,

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) have held a number of regional CPD seminars around the country in 2014 and Coopers Fire were pleased to be invited to exhibit at the most recent seminar at West Midlands Fire Service Headquarters in Birmingham on 10 December 2014.

The series of seminars called Understanding Passive Fire Protection were aimed at improving awareness of passive fire protection and included presentations from technical experts from across the fire sector covering all aspects of passive fire protection, testing and certification, fire risk assessment and installation.

Coopers were recently accepted as members of the ASFP and were pleased to support them in attending and exhibiting at this latest CPD Seminar at the West Midlands Fire Service HQ. Attending the CPD Seminar were a number of different sectors that are involved with both passive and active fire protection including Practising Fire Risk Assessors, Responsible Persons, Local Authorities, Facilities Managers, Building Control, Care Home Providers and members of the Fire and Rescue Service.

Coopers continue to strive to educate and advise people involved within the fire sector about the latest standards as well as our own products and a seminar such as this is a fantastic opportunity to exhibit and network with a number of the attendees. Particularly with the introduction of the British Standard BS 8524 for active fire barriers, as it is becoming increasingly talked about and discussed within the fire industry and therefore important that a manufacturer and installer of active fire curtains such as Coopers Fire conforms to this standard.

Coopers were exhibiting alongside the IFC Group and Exova Warrington. Coopers regularly work with both of these companies; IFC Group for third party independent accreditation and Exova for fire and smoke product testing. Both of these are important parts to ensure we comply with BS8524.
