As recognition of this successful partnership, Multiplex selected Coopers Fire to feature within its dedicated training facility, installing a permanent demonstration fire curtain alongside other approved building systems used across its projects. The installation provides a practical training resource, helping Multiplex’s project teams understand the role of fire curtains within a building’s overall fire strategy while reinforcing best practice throughout the construction process.
The challenge
Fire & Smoke curtains are often concealed within the finished building, making it difficult for project teams to fully appreciate how they operate, integrate with surrounding construction, and contribute to compartmentation. As buildings become increasingly complex, ensuring project teams fully understand how passive and active fire protection systems integrate into the overall building design is more important than ever.

Rather than relying solely on technical drawings or product literature, the facility provides a practical understanding of how approved fire safety systems perform within a real-world installation.

The demonstration unit enables Multiplex’s workers to see the system in its installed configuration, observe its operation and better understand how fire curtains integrate with surrounding building elements to support compartmentation and life safety.
By showcasing the system within its approved manufacturer training area, Multiplex is helping ensure project teams have a greater understanding of compliant fire curtain solutions and their importance throughout the construction lifecycle.
