WHAT WAS THE CLIENT LOOKING FOR?

Five Guys is a global fast food chain of restaurants with a new outlet located in the popular Dubai Marina Mall in Dubai. Coopers manufactured a two sided, FireMaster open Concertina fire curtain for our distributing partner in Dubai UAE, Dosteen Doors and Shutters.

Dosteen worked closely with contractor, Al Tayer Stocks LLC, to ensure fire regulations were adhered to, offering the right level of fire protection to the staff and customers.

The Concertina fire curtain is installed around the main counter in the premises. The counter divides up the main restaurant from the serving area and kitchen. In the event of a fire, the fire curtain will deploy around the counter, acting as a fire break between the kitchen and restaurant.

As no corner posts are required for the Concertina product, it means the right angled counter remains clear of any guides and the fire curtains remains invisible from view until needed.

HOW DID WE HELP?

Coopers FireMaster Concertina is a great way to offer compartmentation between areas like a kitchen and restaurant and able to divide up these two critical areas in a public building and act as a fire break.

By installing the FireMaster Concertina meant it would provide the building with an approved, non-invasive means of fire protection that would satisfy the fire regulations as well as ensuring that the open plan design remained as intended.

Compartmentation and Protected Means of Escape were required as part of the fire safety solutions.

A 7770mm long by 5230mm wide, two-sided, open FireMaster Concertina was installed around the serving counter and due to its modern technology, well-engineered design and non invasive properties means it fits perfectly with this open plan, fire engineered restaurant.

The compact headbox was used on the Five Guys fire curtain meaning the curtain is less noticeable when installed and allows less headroom above the ceiling line.
