Troubleshooting Steps

What to do if you have a fault?

Please use the 'step by step' reset procedures below if you have a fault with the following:
- MK4 Control Panel
- Variospeed 6 Control Panel
- Variospeed 5 (Smart System) Control Panel
- MK5 Control Panel

MK4 Control Panel

RESET PROCESS (IF IN DOUBT, ASK)

1. Ensure the descent path of the curtain is clear i.e. there are no obstructions. The curtain will fully deploy during this process.
2. Remove the incoming ‘ALARM’ cable and the curtain should begin to deploy*. Wait for the curtain to have deployed to its fire operational position.
3. Remove the IEC power lead on top left hand side of control panel. This looks like a ‘kettle lead’.
4. Locate the ‘battery fuse’ on the underside of the bottom right hand side of the control panel. This is located in the centre of 3 circular, black fuses.
5. The fuse can be removed by applying pressure and twisting anti-clockwise. The fuse will then drop down slightly.
6. Wait 10 seconds and confirm that the MK4 remote display screen has lost power and has lost its display.
7. Re-instate the incoming power by re-connecting the IEC power lead (‘kettle lead’).
8. Re-connect the battery fuse by applying pressure and twisting clockwise. Conform the battery fuse remains in position and does not drop down.
9. The MK4 will initialise and after 10 seconds should display ‘in MANUAL mode, AUTO press OK’.
10. Press OK. Note: The curtain should begin to retract at this stage.
* If there is no cable connected into ‘Alarm’, remove the table connected into ‘Detector ’.

Variospeed®6 Control Panel (Grey Box Panel)

RESET PROCESS (IF IN DOUBT, ASK)

If the curtain has test / auto key on the front:

1. Ensure the descent path of the curtain is clear i.e. there are no obstructions. The curtain will fully deploy during this process.
2. Turn the key to the ‘test’ position and the curtain should begin to deploy. Wait for the curtain to have deployed to its fire operational position.
3. Turn the key to the ‘Auto’ position.
4. The red ‘Alarm Off’ LED should start flashing/blinking.
5. Firmly press the ‘Reset’ button. Note: The curtain should begin to retract at this stage.

Variospeed®5 (Smart System) Control Panel

RESET PROCESS (IF IN DOUBT, ASK)

If the curtain has test / auto key on the front:

1. Ensure the descent path of the curtain is clear i.e. there are no obstructions. The curtain will fully deploy during this process.
2. Turn the key to the ‘test’ position and the curtain should begin to deploy. Wait for the curtain to have deployed to its fire operational position.
3. Turn the key to the ‘Auto’ position.
4. Firmly press the ‘Reset’ button. Note: The curtain should begin to retract at this stage.

MK5 Control Panel

RESET PROCESS (IF IN DOUBT, ASK)

1. Ensure the descent path of the curtain is clear i.e. there are no obstructions. The curtain will fully deploy during this process.
2. Remove the incoming ‘ALARM’ cable and the curtain should begin to deploy*. Wait for the curtain to have deployed to its fire operational position.
3. Remove the IEC power lead from the under-side of control panel. This looks like a ‘kettle lead’.
4. Locate the ‘battery fuse’ on the underside of the bottom right hand side of the control panel. This is located in the centre of 3 circular, black fuses.
5. The fuse can be removed by applying pressure and twisting anti-clockwise. The fuse will then drop down slightly.
6. Wait 10 seconds and confirm that the MK4 display screen has lost power and has lost its display.
