CABE Annual Conference and Exhibition 2014

CABE Annual Conference and Exhibition 2014

POSTED BY 23.10.2014,

Coopers Fire were delighted to exhibit at the Annual CABE Conference and Exhibtion in Swindon on 16th and 17th October 2014.
The Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) Annual Conference attracts a range of professionals and Building Engineers from around the globe, who specialise in a number of key areas. As the building industry begins to grow in strength, the industry is now recognising the key role that Building Engineers, with their understanding of technology and the ability to contribute to the design, construction, evaluation and maintenance of the built environment are able to play.
The Coopers exhibition stand proudly displayed our new range of product brochures and it was also the first time we were able to present our new brand to the majority of the CABE delegates (since attending the conference last year in Coventry). Our promotional videos were also being displayed, which is always a handy tool to help us demonstrate the capabilities and full range of our fire curtains and smoke curtain barrier products.

We attracted a great deal of interest from the majority of the attendees and were able to share our extensive knowledge of fire and smoke curtains and the future of the industry with the new recently published BS 8524 parts 1 and 2 for active fire curtain barriers. The RIBA approved CPD Seminars we offer on Fire Curtains, Smoke Curtains and the new British Standard BS 8524 also attracted a lot of interest and we will be presenting a number of CPD's again before Christmas and into 2015.

The conference consisted of two intense days of detailed information and case studies and speakers from nationally renowned organisations, independent from suppliers with subjects of benefit all attendees. To formally open the conference, the patron of CABE, the Earl of Lytton spoke and was followed by Graham Watts, the Chief Executive of Construction Industry Council. Through the first day, there were a number of interesting speakers including Martin Irvine from Portakabin Group and Kevin Easton from the innovative tile roofing company Icopal. The first day was concluded in the evening with the conference black tie dinner with the president of CABE, Michael Wadood.

The second day involved another exhibition session as well as a few speakers including Andy Jobling from RIBA and an interesting talk by Ross Holleron from Zero Carbon Hub.
Coopers Fire continue to work with building engineers and professionals and ensure that our fire and smoke curtain barriers meet the highest international standards.
