Horizontal Smoke Curtains

A Horizontal Smoke Curtain is an Automatic Smoke Barriers and Automatic Smoke Curtains System that controls the movement of smoke in a building during a fire. It comprises fire resistant fabric fixed and tensioned between rollers mounted at either end of the void opening.

The rollers are driven by a tubular motor. The rollers are mounted and enclosed in a steel housing and the leading edge of the curtain has a supporting bar spanning between the side channels that retain the curtain.

It is activated from the fire detection system and horizontally closes the opening in the floor / ceiling.
