As a lot of you in the UK may have noticed, Friday 28th October was Wear It Pink day. The purpose of this was to encourage everyone to donate money towards the Breast Cancer Campaign and in return, be allowed to wear as much pink as possible to work.
In addition to this, we at Coopers Fire ran a competition for the best pink outfit and also Adrienne baked a pink cake as a raffle prize.
The day turned out to be a great success and a lot of fun. Altogether we raised £67.30 and Tony won the best outfit prize with a very impressive 'onesie'.

Lisa is one of our longest serving members of staff here at Coopers and it was very sad for us to discover that her niece, Meliah was very sick. She decided, amongst other things, to do a sponsored skydive to help raise money for her to have specialist Stem Cell treatment in Germany.
Lisa invited other members of staff to join her to help with the fund raising and so Wayne, Nickii and Dan agreed to jump with her. The cost of actually doing the skydive was very kindly donated by Andrew Cooper.
We are please to say they all went through with it and managed to raise a large contribution towards the cost of the treatment. They have all said it was a great experience that they would love to repeat in the future.

Our long serving Sales Director - John Bartlett recently celebrated 51 years working with the Coopers family. As a thank you, we sent him on a little adventure to Kent. Last Friday, John ventured down to the Battle of Britain memorial at Capel-le-Ferne where he got to see a real World War 2 Spitfire up close. After that, he got to fly alongside it in a helicopter.
John has expressed what a fantastic experience it was and highly recommends it. It is safe to say that John is classed as 'part of the furniture' around the Coopers Fire office and we will certainly miss hearing his Superman ringtone when he finally decides to retire.

Recent Portsmouth University Graduate, Jonathan Reed approached us about the final project of his Product Design course last year. We gave him some details about a Fire Curtain product we wanted to develop and he took it on as the subject of his final project.
We are happy to say that Jon did very well and developed a great product - a Horizontal Fire Curtain with Fail Safe. We hope to continue the development and make this new model of Fire Curtain available very soon. We expect a bright future for Jon and would like to wish him luck with his career in Product Design.

If you saw the programme on ITV about the refurbishment, you would be forgiven for not noticing our Fire & Smoke Curtains as our highly developed design keeps them hidden out of sight except in the case of a fire.
